ADHD Medication, Titration & Shared Care
ADHDinSync plans to offer medication initiation, careful titration and ongoing monitoring for adults, children and young people, where clinically appropriate.
Medication will only be considered following an appropriate clinical assessment, with decisions based on individual needs, medical history and relevant clinical guidance.
Once medication is stable, shared care may be requested from your GP. Acceptance is not guaranteed and remains the GP’s decision.
Important Information Before Starting ADHD Medication
The information below explains the planned medication pathway, including titration, monitoring and shared care with your GP.
Discuss Shared Care With Your GP
Before starting private ADHD medication, future prescribing arrangements should be discussed with your GP. Once medication is stable, shared care may be requested but is not guaranteed.
If Shared Care Is Not Accepted
Where clinically appropriate, options may include continued private prescribing, reviews and monitoring. Patients may remain responsible for the associated private costs.
Before Medication Is Started
Medication would only be initiated following an appropriate clinical assessment. Information may be requested from your GP or another healthcare professional to support safe treatment planning.
Monitoring, Complex Care and Medication Safety
Safe ADHD medication care requires appropriate assessment, individual monitoring and clear clinical review.
Complex or Specialist Care
Adults, children and young people with complex needs may require additional assessment, closer monitoring or support from another specialist service.
Medication Monitoring
Monitoring may include treatment response, side effects and relevant physical health measures, depending on age, medication and individual needs.
Medication Safety
Do not start, stop, restart, transfer or change ADHD medication based on website information. Medication decisions require individual clinical assessment and review.
